The Weston Latin Club promotes the study of the Latin language and Roman & Greek cultures at Weston Middle School and Weston High School, encouraging an appreciation for classical antiquity and an understanding of how it influences our modern world.
We compete in local, state, and national Latin and classics competitions and have a fledgling Certamen team.
The Weston Latin Club is a proud member of the Massachusetts Junior Classical League (Mass JCL) and the National Junior Classical League (NJCL).
We'd like to publicly thank the people who have helped the Weston Latin Club get started and grow: Mr. Philip Oates, the Weston Middle School principal, who encouraged us to start a club; Ms. Brigid Sullivan, our middle school Latin teacher, who inspired our love of Latin; Ms. Gina Barbosa, Ms. Cynthia Brisky, and Ms. Susan Bairstow for welcoming our club to Weston High School; Mr. Michael Howard and Ms. Janet Fillion, Mass JCL Board Members, for so much sage advice in our first year; and Mr. Alex Coisman, our club sponsor and certamen coach, for working with us every week to get better.
